The Finishing Touch – Session 1
International Social Etiquette, Dining and Entertaining
Session 1 of The Finishing Touch deals with some of the issues which most commonly cause anxiety for people: how to appear polished and poised at social events, as well as what rules to follow when dining. There are two modules in this one day long workshop, which can be paired with Session 2 of The Finishing Touch and The Finishing Touch Tutorials, or taken as a standalone.
Module 1: The Art of Entertaining and Being Entertained
This module takes you through planning a variety of social events – everything from an informal lunch to a grand gala. Etiquette rules govern every step of the process, from how to properly word an invitation, to how to thank someone for attending. Once you know what the rules are, it becomes stress-free to follow them. Along the way, you will also learn the best way to be a gracious guest at someone else’s event.
Module 2: The Art of the Table
Never be intimidated by a table full of plates, cutlery, and glassware again; this hands-on session takes you through every item, and when and how to use them. This module explains the difference between American, English, and French dining styles within the context of a three-course meal.
